# Manufacturing Shift Handover Template

Use this template at every production shift change to hand off line status, downtime, quality flags, and safety notes to the incoming crew.

## Template fields

- **Shift date & time:** 2026-07-12, Day (06:00–14:00)
- **Outgoing / incoming supervisor:** Outgoing: F. Delgado → Incoming: A. Whitfield
- **Line status / run rate:** Line 3 running at 92% target, no active stoppage
- **Downtime this shift (cause, duration):** 09:15–09:47, changeover jam, cleared, no parts damaged
- **Quality flags:** 12 units held for dimension check, batch #4471 — QA notified
- **Safety notes / near-misses:** Near-miss at palletizer 09:20, guard reset, no injury — reported to safety lead
- **Incoming shift acknowledgment:** Supervisor confirms review of line status and holds before taking over

## How to use it

- Log downtime causes immediately, not from memory at end of shift.
- Flag quality holds by batch number so they're traceable.
- Brief near-misses verbally even when they're also logged in the safety system.
