# End of Shift Checklist Template

Run through this checklist before leaving at the end of every shift — it's the routine that makes sure a handover actually gets written and acknowledged.

## Checklist

- [ ] Complete or hand off in-progress tasks — note status and who's continuing it.
- [ ] Log incidents and near-misses before leaving.
- [ ] Update open issues with current status and confirm the owner.
- [ ] Secure equipment, keys, and site access per site policy.
- [ ] Brief the incoming shift verbally on priority items.
- [ ] Confirm the incoming shift has acknowledged the handover.
- [ ] Flag anything needing management attention separately.

## How to use it

- Run through it in order, every shift, even on quiet days.
- Don't leave until the incoming shift has acknowledged, not just received, the handover.
- Escalate same-day issues separately — don't let them wait in the regular handover.

## Shift-close question

If you left right now, is there anything the next shift would only find out by accident?
